I received my Pilates mat certification from the Kane School at Kinected Studios in NYC in 2010. I have completed additional training in foot health, gait and posture analysis, mind/body awareness and anatomy. My classes focus on the basics of core stability, strength, and flexibility, but I also target postural issues, muscular balance, and myofascial release. I offer posture and gait analysis, private and group sessions, and host rolling out/myofascial release workshops. The rates vary based on type and travel time, so get in touch if you're interested in finding out more.
I think of Pilates as physical therapy for everyday - Pilates works to help your body be dynamic, balanced, and supported so you can move throughout your life with ease, strength, and health. Pilates can benefit everyone, from performance athletes and dancers to de-conditioned beginners. Whether your life is movement or your desk job barely allows for it, I can modify Pilates exercises so that you push yourself from your own range of abilities. In particular, Pilates can help with posture, stress reduction, pain relief, injury recovery and prevention, core strength, self-awareness, and making getting the laundry out of the dryer or reaching for that top shelf easy, pain-free movements. I found Pilates to be incredibly beneficial for relief of my own back pain, as well.
